4th of July!

We had a blast on the 4th of July this year! Probably one of my favorite 4th celebrations yet! We slept over night at my sister's house in No. Ogden which was great fun! Then we got up and went to the Huntsville parade, which is a super cute, small town parade. The boys LOVED it! Sitting and having people throw candy at you is a dream come true for them! Then we went back to Ari's for a delicious BBQ, huge water fight, and a way fun afternoon. Then we headed home and rested for a few hours so we could make it through the fireworks, which were awesome! All around great day of celebration! Here's a few pics:)

Waiting for the parade to start!

It's a miracle everyone was looking in the area of the camera~!

Waiting for the fireworks to start.
I loved that the 4th was on Thursday so we had Friday, Saturday and Sunday to be together as a family! It was great! We saw Despicable Me2 and got a lot of projects done around the house! Including the Kitchen! It looks fabulous!! Stay tuned for some great before and after pics!

Mini (Before not after) Home Tour

I have been so excited to post some pics of our new home! But the problem is we are STILL in boxes (embarrassing) I know! But in my defense we have been driving to SLC 4+ days a week! So I barely have time to do the basic chores around the house! But we are making some progress! Here's the outside, with all the tree's and bushes grown in:) We are SO spoiled with our yard! It's amazing! Let's just hope I can keep it alive...seriously yard work is not my specialty!

Backyard
Playground for the kids!

Gazebo!
Since we are talking about the amazing yard, here are some pics of the backyard! Seriously the previous owner was a professional landscaper and again we are spoiled! It's already SO nice!
"Water Feature!"
It's actually quite nice having the water sound
while relaxing in the bakyard:)
Now here's the kitchen, this is not a good shot AT all! This was taken while I was there cleaning before we even moved in. But I don't have a better one yet. I have SO many idea's for what's going to happen in here so stay tuned for an awesome before and after! (once I find time of course!)

Here's the living room! Again I can't wait for the before and after! I am so excited to get some paint on these white walls!!

Here is my FIRST Before and After! My master was my number 1 project! It's not ALL the way complete but it's close enough!

Before
After.
Still looking for a lampshade and some
decor for Brock's side of the bed. And I am in the process of
making many more pillows for the bed! :)
My dresser.
not 100% happy with this but
it's going in the right direction:)
Master bed reading nook:) And Brock's dresser that I painted.

Anyway! There is much more to show but for now that will have to hold you over! We also got our walk in pantry built wahoo! But I still need to take some good pics of that. So that will be next time's before and after! It turned out amazing! And hopefully when I stumble across all the rest of my master bed decor I will update these pics! My next project is the office/ front entry (that's where all the boxes are!) And I can't wait to get started on it!

Belated Birthday!

It's pretty much embarrassing at this point to do a birthday post about Sadie's first birthday  Seeing as it was almost 4 months ago! But it was a great day and I can't believe my little baby is getting SO big! She still isn't walking too much yet, but she know's how to she just hasn't decided she wants to (she is very stubborn!) And she is signing all sorts of words, fish, milk, more, eat, drink, cookie and she talks A lot! Although no one can quite understand her, she know's what she is saying. She is such a fun easy going baby girl, and we feel so lucky to have her in our family! Here's a few shots from her bday bash!

Silly girl won't sit still for a picture!

Treats table! yum!

Owl cupcakes:)

She had no problem digging into her cake!

So fun to see this lovely couple! We miss you guys!

Grammy Tammy and Sadie!

Reading her new princess book with great grandma Marshall
We're so glad we were able to have the love and support of our family and friends there to celebrate Sadie's first birthday! What a wonderful year it was, and without a doubt the fastest year of my life! Love you Sadie bug, I can't imagine our family without you!!

Baby Legs!

I finally got to put my machine to work again! oh how I've missed sewing the past few weeks while we've been moving! My sister and I sewed these baby legs up yesterday! They are SO simple and cheap! My kind of combination! We just picked up some long socks from Target for $2 and used this tutorial! I love how they turned out. My little Sadie is almost 15 months and still wont walk!! She's a stinker. Anyway, her poor legs are so scratched up from crawling outside with her brothers so I thought these would be a good way to help protect her poor chubby knees! So if you need a quick easy baby craft, this one is great! We also made boy ones for the Brig (the gray and white stripe) they looked so great on his chubby little legs!

Enjoy!

( Pics of the new casa coming soon! )

Crock pot Chicken and Rice soup

Lately I've been attempting to create my own recipes. Just basing them off a recipe I'm already familiar with  but trying to do them a little different. Well let's just say we've had some not so delicious dinners lately;) However I finally had a success! This soup is super easy and delicious so if you need an easy yummy soup for these cold winter nights I highly recommend this one!

Crock pot Chicken and Rice Soup
Serves: 6
Ingredients:
6 Chicken Tenders
1 Onion
1 1/2 Cups Chopped Carrots
5-6 Celery sticks Chopped
2 cans Chicken Broth
1 tsp minced garlic
1/2tsp Seasoned Salt
2 bay leafs
1tsp Oregano
Salt and Pepper to taste

Cooked brown rice

Directions:
Place all ingredients except brown rice in Slow Cooker. Cook on high 4-5 hours or low 6-7 hours. One hour before soup is done cook brown rice (unless it's minute rice then of course just cook it a few minutes before it's done). Add cooked rice last 15 minutes before serving.

Enjoy!

Once upon a time I had a blog...

I often imagine myself posting things on my blog. Funny things my kids say, exciting things that happen to us. And then when it comes down to my 30 min. of free time do I a) shower b) pick up my house c)read a chapter of my current book or d) blog. I'll tell you which one never gets picked anymore and that's D. I really should be picking A today but for some reason I decided to blog. So here we are. The biggest reason is February has been an exciting month for The Paytons.

Exciting thing #1: For Brock's birthday we went downtown and stayed over night at a hotel. Way exciting right? Well I realized this is the FIRST time in almost 5 YEARS that I haven't put kids to bed. We've never gone anywhere by ourselves since Isaac was born. This blew me away, so needless to say our one night away was Fabtabulous! (those moments when 1 awesome word just doesn't do justice). Anyway, we were having way too much fun to take any pictures so we don't have any to capture this monumental moment.

Exciting thing #2: My Bro is getting hitched !?! What! How is my little Colton old enough to get married! Well let's face the facts when I was his age I had a 7 month old baby. So that's cool...Well I love my new sis in law to be and I couldn't be more excited for the happy couple! The big day is set for May 28th! I love weddings:)

Exciting thing #3: This is by far the topper of the month! We bought a house! We bought our condo when we were first married (coming up on 6 years ago!) and we rent that now but we have been renting a house for 2 1/2 years and we are THRILLED to finally own our own casa! We decided to head up to Davis County so we could be closer to Brock's work, I think it's going to be an adjustment for me but I am excited to start our new adventure! We'll probably move the first week in April or somewhere around there so let the packing begin!

Possibly I may blog again in the near future, but I won't make any promises I can't keep! I am however very excited to start decorating my new house and may do a before and after segment...but we'll see.

Welcome to the family!

I know it's been ages since I've blogged! Just haven't had the time/energy/desire to blog lately. But my little sis welcomed her first baby into the family and this is news to be blogged about;)

I can't believe how much I love this little man baby! His blonde hair is so adorable! And I think he looks just like Ari, he has a big square jaw, and some huge lips! He is so stinkin cute and I love him so much!

My mom and I headed up to the hospital as soon as she was admitted. She let us stay in the room until it was time to push and then she had us wait out in the hallway. I knew this was what she wanted, but it was truly the hardest thing of my life to leave and go out in the hall. I just wanted to be there to support her and welcome this little baby into the world. But of course she's the mom and I respect whatever decision she wanted. But it was very emotional and difficult to leave. It was great to hear his little cry, and the longest hour and half of my life to wait to see him.She had him at 3:00am he weighed 7lbs 2 oz 20 in long. I really do love him so much already! Here are a few pics of Brigham W. Messerly, the newest member of the family!

Pouty lips!

Lots of hair!
